  • Vari-V Valve Overview

    M-Class Vari-V Control Valves

When precise control of flow, pressure, or temperature is required in a metal seated ball valve, the M-Class Vari-V Control Valve is perfect for your tough applications. Standard 10°, 30°, 60°, 90° V's are cut into the ball for diverse Cv and control requirements. Custom profile V's are used for unusual applications requiring special flow characteristics.

  • Standard V-Balls

    V-Balls

At the heart of every M-Class metal seated control valve lies the Vari-V ball. The profile of the V-ball determines the flow characteristic of the valve and can be interchanged to suit the application. 10°, 30°, 60° and 90° V-balls are most common, but other profiles are readily available, including the Linear-V, Filler-V and High Turndown-V. The transition between high flow and fine control with the Vari-V is extremely smooth. Custom V ball options are also available.

  • Custom V-Balls

    Custom V-Balls

Custom V balls are available for applications that possess specific flow requirements which cannot be met using a standard V-ball. With the aid of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we can create a V-ball with a specific profile to fit any application. Anti-cavitation trim is also available. For further information on custom V-ball applications, including videos and specifications, please contact Gosco Valves.

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

    CFD

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a flow simulation software package that can be used to identify high velocity flow paths within our valve. If these velocities are high enough to cause cavitation or damage to the valve, special design elements can be added to reduce/manage the velocities. CFD was used in conjunction with real flow testing to determine the flow coefficient (Cv) of our standard Vari-V balls. It is also used to design custom Vari-V balls, where unique flow characteristics are required for the service.

  • Superior Trim Hardening

    Superior Trim Hardening

BORONIZING is a thermo-chemical surface hardening process that creates a surface layer that’s so hard, it can’t be measured on the Rockwell C Scale. We use Inconel 718 because it is the best overall metal for corrosion, high temperature, and wear resistance. Our PROPRIETARY BORONIZING has a layer depth over 100 microns (0.004”) and a hardness between HV 2500-2700.

Compared to HVOF coatings, BORONIZING is:
Substantially harder, markedly more wear resistant, impervious to corrosion, and is capable of handling huge temperature shocks without spalling or flaking.

  • Tripod Mounting System

    Tripod Mount

The M-Class Tripod Mount allows you to install the valve in any orientation without supporting the actuator, and we use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to guarantee it. The very unique design also eliminates actuator misalignment. Three evenly-spaced prongs define a plane, preventing the actuator from rocking. When paired with a CNC machined mounting plate that cannot move left to right or back and forth, the actuator is guaranteed to be aligned correctly. Additionally, the packing can be adjusted without having to remove the actuator, and the three tripod prongs act as a heat sink to minimize the amount of heat that gets to the actuator.

  • Exotic Alloys

    Exotic Alloys

If you can cast it, or it is available in bar stock/forgings, Gosco can create your own bespoke M-Class 3-Way Diverter Valve, even with metals that require vacuum casting (e.g. titanium). We are not restricted to making merely the body from exotic alloys, as we can manufacture all components to your exact specifications, right down to the bolting. Our engineering team at Gosco Valves has extensive experience in corrosive applications, and we can recommend the best material to use for your specific application.

  • Scalloped Seats

    Scalloped Seats

Our competition attempts to prevent media from getting between the seat and spring by sealing the outer edge and back of the seat. Gosco Valves' patented design allows the media to flow freely behind the seat using special scallops. Since the media flows freely, it never gets trapped. We use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to determine the optimal size, quantity, steepness of the angle, and spacing of the scallops.

  • Made To Order

    Made-To-Order

Not all processes are the same, and applications exist where standard valves just don't cut it. Our strength is being able to find solutions to problems that other manufacturers simply don’t have the capability to solve. Gosco has a team of specialized engineers, an independent R&D facility, cutting edge design technology and decades of experience in severe service applications. We also have a “Think Outside the Box” philosophy, and a “Say Yes” attitude, so when you need a BESPOKE valve, made exactly to your specifications - you have come to the right company
